Some links on LeavePrep earn a commission. Here is exactly which ones, and what that does and does not change.
What is a paid link
Any link marked with a product name and a “View” action is a paid link. If you buy something after following one, LeavePrep may receive a commission. The price you pay is unchanged.
Every paid link points at /go/ on this site before redirecting to the retailer.
That lets us fix a broken link in one place and count how often links are used. It does not
collect anything about you.
The rule that governs the checklists
Checklist items are written before any product is attached, and an item stays on the list whether or not a product exists for it. Most items on this site have no product at all.
Nothing is added to a checklist because it can be sold. If a product were removed tomorrow, the reminder above it would not change.
How products are chosen
- The product has to solve the checklist item it sits under.
- It has to be the kind of thing a reasonable traveller would actually pack.
- Where a product has limits, those limits are stated next to it, not buried elsewhere.
LeavePrep does not claim to have tested every product it links to, and does not publish ratings or scores it has not earned the right to publish.
What we do not do
- No invented statistics about what people forget.
- No claims that a security product guarantees safety.
- No retailer cited as the authority for a safety claim.
- No review dates that do not reflect a real review.
